We are re-opening a COVID-19 secure clinic set up from 1st June 2020 for those who require face to face appointments. Please note all sessions are as always available online via Skype/FaceTime/Zoom if you are further afield, for your convenience, or if you need to remain at distance for health and isolation reasons.

We take the responsibility of clients safety extremely seriously and appreciate your co-operation by strictly adhering to the guidance outlined by the government as follows. Please take a moment to read our health and safety policy for in-clinic appointments.

  • If you currently have any symptoms, however mild of COVID-19, are self-isolating with anyone with symptoms, have recently (last 14 days) travelled from abroad, or have been in contact with anyone with symptoms within the past 14 days, we ask that you either switch your in-clinic appointment for an online Skype/FaceTime/Zoom call, or rearrange your in-clinic appointment for when you have been free of symptoms yourself for 14 days

  • If you arrive more than 10 minutes early for your appointment please do not enter clinic - please wait outside at the foot of the external stairs

  • Before entering clinic please use the alcohol gel at the sanitation station outside the front door (at the top of the external stairs)

  • We now practice a strict one client at a time policy on site. This is simple as we have no waiting room, so you will not pass close to other clients when on the premises. To maintain this we have left an ample 30 minute gap between all client sessions - this also allows us to thoroughly sanitise all door handles, client chair and headphones between each appointment

  • When in clinic there is a strict no-contact policy to ensure we maintain a safe distance of at least 2m apart at all times. This is clearly delineated with floor tape in the clinic room for clarity

  • Please do not bring friends, or family to your appointment unless it's 100% essential (for example you need their assistance to get up the stairs), they also need to take note of these  guidelines

  • Mask wearing is currently optional. Feel free to wear your own to session. We have a limited supply of N95 masks available, however due to our set up we will be maintaining over 2m distance at all times, so we are not currently legally to wear them

We are grateful for your understanding and cooperation at this time, please be rest assured your safety is our primary concern and look forward to working with you.

If you have any doubts, or questions please don't hesitate to call Alice to discuss.

Stay well, Alice

How do I find you?

The entrance to clinic is from the White Horse Lane car park in Maldon town centre.

The address is 10 White Horse Lane, Maldon CM9 5QP. Please read this and see the photos at the bottom of this page to help guide you to clinic for your appointment.

There is NO private parking available at my clinic, however as you access the clinic from the White Horse Lane car park in Maldon you should be able to easily park in the pay and display.

After parking, with the car park behind you look for the LAS Accountants & Solicitors and take the entrance immediately to the right of their car park.

You will see my clinic sign on the brick wall at the opening to the gateway.

Walk through the private gravel car park (strictly for use by the office employees only)

Continue past the big tree straight ahead into the courtyard via the black metal pedestrian gate with my clinic sign on.

Walk up the external stairs that lead to my office (light blue painted building with a white door).

You will see my sign on the railings at the top of the stairs.

Please enter the white front door quietly as I may still be with my previous client. If the internal door sign says "Engaged" please wait (I will know you are there). If it says "Vacant", or the internal door is open please do come in!

Apologies there is no disabled access at this clinic. In this instance please book a video-call (FaceTime/Skype) session.

How long does each therapy session take?

Initial consultations are 30-40 minutes either face to face or via FaceTime/Zoom/Skype.

Therapy sessions are approximately one hour, unless otherwise agreed.

Will I be 'out of it' during any hypnosis?

Not at all!

Hypnosis from the Greek word Hypnos - or sleep - is really a misnomer as during hypnosis you are not in any way asleep (or in a trance), just naturally mentally and physically relaxed at the same time as being mentally focused.

In fact there is no such thing as a special hypnotised feeling. Hypnosis is a very ordinary and pleasant state where there is just a profound sense of relaxation along with a focus of ones concentration that is induced by suggestion.

There is no mind control, brainwashing or manipulation as is a common misconception gleaned from stage hypnotist shows and television portrayals of hypnosis. The truth of the matter is hypnosis is quite the opposite. It's a heightened sense of awareness on all levels of senses, concentration and creativity, that when guided correctly opens up an immensely powerful force for change for the better good of the individual. For example while in this relaxed state the mind finds it easier to accept beneficial suggestions e.g. "You are now a non-smoker".

Another myth to be dispelled is that some people cannot be hypnotised. Anyone in a reasonably sober state of mind can reach the relaxed state of hypnosis. In fact we all do so naturally several times a day without the help of a hypnotherapist! We've all experienced that blurry stage between sleep and awake, or been engrossed watching a gripping movie, zoned out long distance driving, or been lost in a hobby or work to the point where you lose track of time. These are all "states of hypnosis", just without the suggestion part which is where I come in!

You are quite free to converse, move around and so on in hypnosis and you will remember (probably more clearly than normal) what's said in the session.

You will be able to drive and go about your normal every day business straight after your session (although you may feel considerably better than you did before!).
